Shattak

Roadmap

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: [DD Month YYYY]

Nobody enjoys reading these. So we wrote ours the way we'd want to read them: short sentences, plain words, no lawyer fog unless the law actually needs it.

Read them anyway. By using Shattak, you're agreeing to everything below.

The short version

Before the detail, here's the whole thing in nine lines:

  • Every course is free to enroll in. You never pay before you learn.
  • You get a certificate only after you finish the assignment, not just the videos.
  • After that, you decide what to pay. ₹0 is a real, allowed answer.
  • To start your next course, you have to close out the previous one with a payment. That payment can be ₹0.
  • Some of our lessons point to YouTube videos and other public resources we didn't make. We organize them; we don't own them.
  • Your account is yours alone. Don't share logins, access codes, or course material.
  • Mentorship happens in WhatsApp groups. Be decent in them.
  • We can't promise you a job, a rank, or a salary. We can promise the course, the mentor access, and the certificate.
  • If something goes wrong, talk to us first at [support@shattak.com].

The rest of this page is the same thing, said properly.

1. Who you're dealing with

Shattak ("Shattak", "we", "us", "our") is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], registered at [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. Our platform lives at [shattak.com] and includes the website, course pages, assignment and certificate systems, mentorship sessions, community groups, and anything else we run under the Shattak name.

"You" means whoever is using it. Student, mentor, visitor, all of you.

2. Agreeing to these terms

You accept these terms when you do any of the following:

  • create an account
  • enroll in a course
  • join a Shattak community group
  • book or attend a mentorship session
  • use the platform in basically any way

If you don't agree with something here, the honest answer is: don't use Shattak. There's no version of this where you use the platform but opt out of the rules.

If you're accepting on behalf of a school, company, or organisation, you're confirming you're allowed to bind them.

3. Who can use Shattak

You can use Shattak if you're 18 or older and legally able to enter a contract.

If you're under 18, you can still learn here, but a parent or legal guardian has to agree to these terms and take responsibility for your account and any payment you make. If you're under 18 and using Shattak without that, you're using it outside these terms.

We may ask you to prove your age. We may close accounts where we have good reason to believe the age information is false.

4. Your account

Keep it accurate. Keep it yours.

  • One person, one account. Don't create accounts for other people or pretend to be someone else.
  • Your login is not shareable. Not with a friend, not with a study group, not with your cousin who's "also interested".
  • You're responsible for everything that happens under your account.
  • Tell us fast at [support@shattak.com] if you think someone else got in.

If we find one account being used by several people, we can suspend it and cancel any certificate issued through it.

5. How enrollment actually works

Here's the flow, and each step matters:

Step 1: You enroll. Free. No card, no upfront fee, no trial that quietly converts.

Step 2: You join the mentorship group. After enrolling, you're pointed to the course's WhatsApp mentorship group. The description of that group contains a unique access key.

Step 3: You enter the access key. That unlocks the course content. It exists so that every enrolled student is actually connected to their mentor and their batch before they start.

A serious note on access keys: the key is for you. Posting it publicly, selling it, or passing it around to people who haven't enrolled is a breach of these terms. We'll rotate the key, remove you from the group, and close your account if that happens.

Step 4: You learn. Most courses run around 6 to 7 modules, with roughly 6 to 9 lessons each, though this varies by subject.

Step 5: The assignment unlocks. It stays locked while you're still working through the content. Once you finish the required material, the assignment opens, along with bonus material, live session recordings, and extra resources.

Step 6: You submit. Finishing the lessons is not finishing the course. The assignment or project is the course.

Step 7: Feedback, then certificate. After your submission is accepted, you fill in a short feedback form. Then the certificate is yours to download.

Step 8: You pay whatever you want. More on that below.

6. Payment: the "pay what you want" part

This is the section people actually care about, so we'll be very clear.

You choose the amount

After you've completed the course and received your certificate, you'll see the option to pay. You decide the number. ₹0, ₹100, ₹1,000, whatever you think the course was worth to you.

There's no minimum. There's no suggested-amount guilt trip that turns into a mandatory fee three screens later. If you pay ₹0, nothing bad happens and nobody asks why.

You choose the timing

You can pay the moment you finish, or next month, or after you land the job the course helped you get. Whenever you're ready.

The one condition

To enroll in a new course, you need to close out your previous one by submitting a payment for it.

That payment can be ₹0.

So it isn't a paywall. It's a checkout step. It exists so the loop closes and so we know a course is genuinely done before you start the next one. Submit the amount, even if the amount is nothing, and the next course opens up.

Payment mechanics

  • Payments are processed by third party payment providers. Their terms apply to the transaction itself.
  • We don't store your full card or bank details.
  • Amounts are in Indian Rupees (₹) unless a page says otherwise.
  • Applicable taxes, if any, are on top of what you pay.
  • If a payment fails or reverses, the related course may be treated as unpaid until it's sorted out.

7. Refunds

Because you pay after learning and you choose the amount, refunds work differently here than on most platforms.

Payments made through the pay what you want flow are voluntary contributions for a service you've already received in full. As a rule, they aren't refundable.

We'll make exceptions for genuine mistakes: a duplicate charge, a technical failure, an amount entered wrong by a clear slip. Write to [support@shattak.com] within [7] days and we'll look at it properly.

If we have a separate Refund Policy published on the site, that document sits alongside this one and covers the detail.

8. Certificates

Your certificate says one specific thing: you completed this course and delivered the required outcome.

What that means in practice:

  • It's issued only after your assignment or project is submitted and accepted.
  • Watching every lesson does not earn one.
  • It's issued to you personally and is not transferable.
  • It is not a degree, diploma, or government recognised qualification, and it isn't accredited by any university or regulatory body.
  • We can revoke a certificate if we later find the work was plagiarised, bought, generated wholesale by someone or something else, or otherwise not yours.

We're strict about this because the certificate only means something if it means something.

9. Mentorship, live sessions, and one on one time

Mentors on Shattak are working professionals: people with real experience, real career outcomes, and in most cases 5+ years in their field.

A few things to know:

  • Mentors are independent contributors, not our employees, unless we've told you otherwise.
  • What a mentor tells you is their view based on their experience. It's guidance, not professional, legal, medical, or financial advice, and not a guarantee of any result.
  • Mentor availability changes. Sessions may be rescheduled, and a mentor may be replaced by someone else with relevant experience.
  • Don't record, screenshot, or redistribute a live session or a one on one call without permission from the mentor and from us.
  • Repeated no-shows for booked one on one sessions may cost you access to future bookings.

If a mentor behaves inappropriately, report it to [support@shattak.com]. We take that seriously.

10. Community rules

Right now our communities live on WhatsApp, because that's where students already are. We may move to Telegram or to our own in-platform community later. When we do, these rules travel with us.

Do: ask questions, even basic ones. Help people. Share resources and opportunities. Discuss the subject and your career.

Don't:

  • spam, promote your own product, or drop affiliate links
  • harass, abuse, threaten, or discriminate against anyone
  • share access keys, paid material, or pirated content
  • post sexual, violent, hateful, or illegal content
  • scrape or collect other members' phone numbers and contact them without consent
  • pretend to be a mentor, a Shattak team member, or another student

We can remove anyone from any group, at any time, without a hearing. Groups are for learning; we're not going to run a courtroom in them.

WhatsApp is a third party service with its own terms and privacy policy. Anything you post in a group is visible to everyone in that group, including your phone number and display name. Join with that in mind.

11. Content, and who owns what

What we own

Our written explanations, curriculum structure, learning paths, assignments, projects, platform design, brand, logo, and the way it's all put together belong to Shattak or to whoever licensed it to us.

You get a personal, limited, non-transferable licence to use it for your own learning. That's it.

You may not:

  • copy, resell, sublicense, or redistribute course material
  • upload our material to another platform, a Telegram channel, a Drive folder, or a course of your own
  • use our content to train an AI model or build a competing product
  • strip out our branding or claim the work as yours

What we don't own (this part matters)

Shattak currently uses a curation model. A lot of our courses combine our own written material and assignments with high quality videos and resources that already exist publicly, mostly on YouTube.

So, plainly:

  • We do not own those third party videos or resources.
  • We link to or embed them from their original platform, where the creator gets their views and their credit.
  • Those creators' own terms and licences apply to their work.
  • If you're a creator and something of yours is included in a way you're not comfortable with, email [support@shattak.com] and we'll take it down or change it.

We're building more original video and material over time. Until then, we'd rather point you to the best existing explanation of a topic than make a worse one just to own it.

What you make

Your assignments and projects stay yours. By submitting them, you give us permission to store them, review them, and use them for evaluation and certification.

We may also feature your work as an example, but only with your permission, and we'll ask first.

12. Things you must not do

Beyond the community rules, don't:

  • break any law while using Shattak
  • try to break into the platform, other accounts, or our systems
  • scrape, crawl, or bulk-download our content
  • get around access controls, locked assignments, or the access key system
  • submit someone else's work as your own
  • interfere with the platform's operation, or upload anything malicious
  • misrepresent what a Shattak certificate is to an employer or institution

Breaking these can mean losing access, losing your certificate, and, if it's serious, legal consequences.

13. What we don't promise

We'd love to promise you a job. We can't, and neither can anyone who tells you otherwise.

So, honestly:

  • We don't guarantee employment, a salary, a promotion, an internship, an exam result, or admission anywhere.
  • We don't guarantee that a course will suit your specific background or goals.
  • We don't guarantee the platform will be available without interruption, or that everything on it is free of errors.
  • Courses change. We update curriculum based on industry shifts and student feedback, so what you see today may differ tomorrow.
  • Third party resources can disappear. A YouTube video can be deleted by its creator without warning. We fix these when we spot them, but we can't stop them.

The platform and everything on it is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses. That includes lost income, lost opportunities, lost data, or missed exams.
  • We're not liable for what a mentor, another student, or a third party service does.
  • Where we are liable, our total liability to you is capped at the total amount you've actually paid Shattak in the 12 months before the claim, or ₹1,000, whichever is higher.

Some rights can't be excluded under Indian law. Nothing here removes those.

15. Indemnity

If your use of Shattak causes a claim against us, for example because you posted something unlawful, infringed someone's copyright, or misused course material, you agree to cover our reasonable losses, costs, and legal fees arising from it.

16. Suspension and closing accounts

You can leave whenever you want. Email [support@shattak.com] and we'll close your account. Certificates you've already earned stay valid.

We can suspend or close an account if you break these terms, share access keys or course material, abuse people in the community, submit work that isn't yours, or use the platform in a way that harms other students.

Where it's reasonable, we'll warn you first. Where it isn't, we won't.

If we close your account for a breach, you don't get a refund of amounts already paid, and pending certificates may be withheld.

17. Third party services

Shattak relies on services we don't control: WhatsApp, YouTube, payment gateways, video hosts, and others. Their terms and privacy policies apply when you use them. We're not responsible for their content, availability, or how they handle your data.

Links out from Shattak are for your learning. A link isn't an endorsement.

18. Privacy

How we collect and handle your information is covered in our [Privacy Policy]. It's part of these terms, so please read it too.

19. Changes to these terms

We'll update this page as Shattak grows. When we change something significant, we'll update the date at the top and, where it affects you directly, tell you by email or in the platform.

Continuing to use Shattak after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you don't, close your account.

20. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in [CITY, STATE] have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.

Before it gets that far, please email us. Most things get sorted in one conversation.

21. The usual legal bits

  • Severability: if any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still stands.
  • No waiver: if we don't enforce something immediately, we haven't given up the right to enforce it later.
  • Entire agreement: these terms, plus the Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, make up the full agreement between you and Shattak.
  • Assignment: you can't transfer your rights under these terms. We can, if our business is restructured or acquired.
  • Force majeure: we're not liable for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.

22. Talk to us

Questions, complaints, copyright notices, or anything else:

Email: [support@shattak.com] Address: [REGISTERED ADDRESS] Response time: we aim to reply within [X] working days

Shattak exists because we think education should start with learning, not with a payment screen. These terms are here to keep that model working for everyone using it.
