How Shattak Works
Enroll free. Learn. Build something real. Get certified. Then decide what it was worth to you.
That's the whole thing. No card at signup, no trial that quietly ends, no "unlock the full course" button halfway through.
Below is exactly what happens, step by step, from the moment you open a course page to the moment you decide what to pay.

Now the long version.
Step 1 — Find a course and enroll
Browse the courses on the homepage. Open one that looks right and read the details page properly: what the course covers, how the curriculum is laid out, and what you'll walk away with.
Then click Enroll.
That's it. No payment page. No "starting at ₹X". You're in.
Step 2 — Join the mentorship community
After you enroll, you land on the Course Overview page, and we'll ask you to join the course's WhatsApp group.
Inside the group description, there's a unique access code. Enter that code on the course page and your content unlocks.
Why the extra step instead of dropping you straight into the videos? Because learning alone is the fastest way to quit. The group is where you'll ask the dumb question you're embarrassed to ask, see other people stuck on the same chapter, and get answers from a mentor who has actually done the thing.
We'd rather you be connected before you start than go looking for help after you've already given up.
Step 3 — Start learning
Most Shattak courses run around 6 to 7 modules, with roughly 6 to 9 chapters in each. It depends on the subject. Some topics need more room, some need less, and we don't pad a course to make the number look impressive.
Every course is built backwards from one clear outcome. Depending on what you picked, that's:
- a working project you can show people
- a specific skill you can use at work
- deep understanding of a topic you needed to actually get
- the ability to solve real problems in that area
- preparation for an exam or assessment
You're not here to finish videos. You're here to end up somewhere different from where you started.
Step 4 — Unlock the assignment
The Assignment section stays locked while you're learning. It opens once you've completed the course content.
A few other things unlock at the same time:
- bonus material
- recordings from live sessions
- extra resources for going deeper
Step 5 — Do the work and submit it
Now you build the thing, pass the practice test, or complete whatever the course outcome asks for. Then you submit it through the platform.
This part isn't optional, and it's the part most platforms skip.
Watching every lesson does not get you a certificate on Shattak. Completing the outcome does. If a certificate can be earned by pressing play and walking away, it's worth nothing to you and nothing to the person reading your resume.
Step 6 — Feedback, then your certificate
Once your assignment is submitted successfully, the Certificate section opens up.
Before you download it, we'll ask you to fill out a short feedback form about your experience. Tell us what worked, what dragged, what confused you, what was missing.
We read these. Courses get rewritten because of them.
Submit the form, and your certificate is yours to download.
Step 7 — Pay what you want, when you want
Here's where Shattak stops looking like every other platform.
After you have your certificate, you'll see a payment option. You decide the number.
₹0 is a real, valid, no-questions-asked answer. So is ₹100. So is ₹1,000. Nobody sees a list. Nobody follows up to ask why you chose what you chose.
You also decide the timing. Pay right away, pay next month, pay when you land the job the course helped you get. There's no deadline on it.
The reasoning is simple: you can't judge what something is worth until you've had it. We think people pay more honestly after value than before it. So we ask after.
Learn first. Achieve the outcome. Get certified. Pay when you're ready.
The one rule
There's exactly one condition, and we want to be upfront about it rather than bury it in the terms page.
To enroll in your next course, you need to make a payment on the previous one.
The amount can be ₹0.
Yes, really. It's a decision, not a fee. We just want you to actively make it before moving on, instead of stacking up half-finished courses the way everyone does with cheap sales and free trials. Choosing ₹0 and clicking through takes ten seconds and costs nothing.
What you get alongside the course
Shattak isn't only a place to store courses. The course is the spine, and these are the things around it.
Mentors who've actually done it. We bring on people with real track records: 5+ years in the field, strong career growth at good companies, cracked competitive exams or hard interviews, or built something themselves through freelancing or entrepreneurship. What matters more than the years is whether they have real knowledge and results that can help you.
Direct access. Depending on the course and demand, that means one on one mentorship, live classes, Q&A and doubt-solving sessions, or guidance through the community.
The community itself. Right now it lives on WhatsApp, because that's where students already are and it takes no effort to use. Ask questions, share resources, argue about approaches, find people at your level. As we grow we may move to something else, or eventually build our own space inside Shattak. For now WhatsApp works and lets us put our energy into the parts that matter more.
Courses that keep changing. Curriculum gets updated as industries shift, as feedback comes in, and as better ways to explain something show up.
How our courses are made (the honest answer)
We curate as much as we create, and we're not going to pretend otherwise.
A Shattak course today is usually built from written explanations and learning material, carefully chosen YouTube videos that already explain a concept well, practical assignments and projects, curated outside resources, and mentor guidance on top of all of it.
If a brilliant explanation of a topic already exists and is free, re-recording a worse version of it is a waste of everyone's time. Our job is to find the best available resource for each piece, put them in the right order, and build the assignments, mentorship, and structure around them so you know exactly:
what to learn → what to practice → what to build → what outcome to achieve
Mentors help design this. They define what you actually need to learn, in what sequence, and what you should have to build to prove you learned it.
As we grow, more original lectures and interactive material will get made. Early on, using what's already good lets us spend our limited time on curriculum, mentorship, community, and whether students actually finish.
Common questions
Is it actually free, or free-trial free? Actually free. Every course, all the content, the assignment, the certificate. Payment happens at the end and the amount is yours to pick.
What if I pay ₹0 every single time? Then you pay ₹0 every single time, and you keep full access to everything. That's the model working as intended, not a loophole.
Why do I have to join WhatsApp? The access code lives in the group description, so it's how you get into the course. It's also how you get to mentors and other students without us building a whole separate platform for it.
What if I never finish the course? Nothing bad happens. No charge, no penalty. You just won't have the certificate, since that requires completing the outcome. Come back whenever.
Can I get a certificate without doing the assignment? No. That's the one thing we're strict about.
What can I learn here? Technology, programming, product management, marketing, and business. Creative skills like guitar, music, and comedy. Academic subjects too: physics, chemistry, mathematics, thermodynamics, engineering, humanities, political science, and more of what gets taught in colleges and universities. The goal is to cover almost anything you'd want to learn, in one place.
